Mata-Au originates from our Chard Farm vineyards formed by the Mata-Au (Clutha) river, situated in the Cromwell Basin of Lowburn & Parkburn.
The presence of this ancient river bestows a unique influence on the character of our soils. Carefully chosen from the finest blocks in the Lowburn and Parkburn sub-regions, it creates perfumed wines of great elegance, minerality and structure.

Deliciously perfumed with cherry and cranberry red fruits, violet and rose florals. Fresh and pure with flavours of red cherries and strawberry on an open and expansive palate. Persistent and silky tannins effortlessly flow into the back of the palate with a long savoury finish.
